Planning an event can be an overwhelming process. You’ve got to think about the venue, the date, the supplies, the guests and the prospects of entertaining those guests. There are a million things to consider when organising the big day, and while you want it to go smoothly, you also want your guests to have unforgettable time. That should be your main goal – to impress your guests.
We’ve put together more events than we can count. As a team, we’ve helped create memories from every different type of brief. Over the years we’ve found merit in a few ways to blow away guests and keep them talking about the event for weeks. Here are our top tips on creating an unforgettable event. First Impressions Count Pour time, energy and effort into creating an unforgettable entrance. Ideally, you want your guests to be wowed from the moment they enter the event. The entrance to the event should be the talk of the party, so make it grand. Roll out a red carpet, have someone greeting them as they enter, and serve them cocktails as they arrive with promotional staff or event waiters. Putting the effort into the first impression will certainly set the mood high for the guests, which brings us to… Create an Ambience Once the guests have arrived, make sure the mood is set. Create an ambience that will keep the spirits high and the guests intrigued. We recommend having a designer come in and create a space with light, art and colour that will help set the mood. Keep the space busy and flowing, whether it’s with staff or other guests – you don’t want an empty looking venue. Entertain Your Guests Whether you’re hosting a private function or a work event, consider having some form of entertainment for your guests. The average event will last for a few hours, so you want to keep your guests occupied with something engaging to avoid them leaving early. Often having entertainment like actors, magicians, acrobats will give off a more personalised, interactive experience.
